Ilia Topuria looks to make the first defense of his featherweight title at UFC 308, where he takes on one of the division’s legends in fan favorite Max Holloway.
Topuria vs. Holloway represents a fight brimming with potential, but it’s also a clash of personalities. “Blessed” has always been the respectful, soft-spoken champion, doing his talking in the cage. Topuria has been willing to talk trash to some of the sport’s greats, and has never appeared short on confidence.
Will his emotions get the better of him in Abu Dhabi? Since there doesn’t appear to be much actual bad blood here, it’s not likely, but the contrast between the pair has been on display all week.
In the co-main event, Khamzat Chimaev returns to face former middleweight champ Robert Whittaker – and a win could finally punch his ticket to a title shot. If Chimaev can stay healthy.
