Prediction: I’ve been onto Ado ever since he went 2-0 against two guys that were expected to beat him. You can’t find a ton on Micallef because the promotion he’s fought almost exclusively for, HEX, is terrible at showing their fights.
I’ll say Micallef losing to Aldin Bates is a bad look. A rebound against Matt Vaile is a good one though. Between the two I like Ado on the feet more. Ado has concerns with his striking defense; Micallef has major concerns in that area. I like the wrestling of Ado more and the grappling of Micallef more.
I believe the key factor in this fight is the cardio of Ado. If you notice, in between rounds Ado doesn’t take a seat on the stool. It’s a sign that his conditioning is up to par and Micallef’s durability is a big grey area. I only see Micallef winning if Ado gets a takedown and loses position. I feel as Ado will land the jab and the straight punches down the middle. I have Ado by TKO in round three and I’m 65% confident.
