Canadian flyweight prospect Tony Laramie will make his RIZIN Fighting Federation debut next month.
Laramie (9-2), younger brother of former UFC featherweight T.J. Laramie, will face Yutaro Muramoto (12-8-2) at RIZIN Landmark 10 in Nagoya, Japan on November 17, 2024.
Promotion officials recently announced the pairing on social media.
A native of Windsor, Ontario, Tony Laramie has been a familiar face for regional Canadian promotions including TKO, BTC, and PFC. He also holds a win under the LFA banner, and has been looked at as a name that could possibly appear on Dana White’s Contender Series, although that did not happen this season.
Instead, Laramie, who earlier this year claimed flyweight gold in BTC, the same promotion that featured names like Loopy Godinez and Jasmine Jasudavicius, will fight outside North America for the first time, and for a major promotion at that.
Opponent Muramoto has been competing mainly for RIZIN and DEEP, debuting for the former at RIZIN 18 in 2019. He’s 2-3 in the promotion overall, but coming off a split decision win over Kenta Hayashi at DEEP 119 Impact this past May.
RIZIN Landmark 10 will be held at the Port Messe Nagoya in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture on November 17, and features names like Vugar Karamov and Ayaka Hamasaki also on the card.
