Prediction: I wish these guys were fighting in the UFC because they both deserve it. Gauci is hard to find a ton of tape on because the HEX promotion sucks at that for the most part. From the tape out there, you can tell he’s good. A win over Steve Erceg proves that. With Drillich, he’s just been knocking guys out. I’d say one of the heaviest hitters at flyweight.
To me, Drillich isn’t the typical flyweight. He’s not as fast, he lacks footwork, and his output isn’t there. Although his power is a game-changer, if you take away his left hand he’s a .500 fighter. Gauci is the opposite. He’s a talented boxer who mixes up striking patterns and goes to the head and body. Maybe not as much power as Drillich but Gauci has pop as well.
Gauci also has good wrestling that he may lean on in this fight. I do worry about what happens if Drillich connects, because the striking defense of Gauci could be better. I just think Gauci is the more polished striker and better grappling and wrestling. I’ve got Gauci by decision and I’m 50% confident.
