Paris – UFC light heavyweight Oumar Sy has already had to deal with losing opponents early on in his UFC run, but finally got an opponent to make it to fight night when he faces Da Woon Jung at UFC Paris on Saturday.
“I feel great. I’m home. Doesn’t matter to be in Paris or somewhere else,” Sy told reporters on Wednesday.
Sy (10-0) fights in France under the UFC banner for the first time in the promotion. He’s fought there before, in other organizations, but never on a stage this big.
“It’s the same. A cage is a cage. To be here or somewhere else it doesn’t matter,” he said.
The undefeated Frenchman hopes to grab his 11th victory on Saturday which may put him in a position to call opponents out. Even with the undefeated record Sy was hesitant to name anybody opting to instead say he’ll take whoever the UFC sends him.
“No. I will take what the UFC will offer me. Everyone is good for my career,” he said.
“Yes I’m happy (about my undefeated record), but I know that a career can be super short. I just want to enjoy.”
