Paris – UFC lightweight Benoit Saint Denis expects to take full advantage if a top spot on this Saturday’s UFC Paris card when he faces Renato Moicano.
“Everything is open. Everything is (there) to take. I’m here to take everything I can,” Saint Denis told reporters on Wednesday.
“First off I need to put on a huge performance against Moicano. He’s a tough fight. I’m expecting a tough fight, and it’s going to be a war. Expect me to do my best to climb the division.”
Saint Denis (13-2) is coming off a tough loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 299. After coming out fast and going after Poirier he found himself a victim of a nasty right hook in the second round that ended his night.
Even with the loss Saint Denis remains hopeful that he’ll be able to get back to climbing up the ranks in a stacked lightweight division.
“It’s very open, but all I need is to do great performance on Saturday night. I have a great manager he’s taking care of it. My job as a fighter is to go out there and to put on the fight everybody is expecting,” he said.
“To make it go my way and we will see from there.”
