Conor McGregor has reacted to news of Michael Chandler moving on from their long-anticipated fight.
McGregor vs. Chandler was to have headlined UFC 303 back in June, until a broken toe forced the Irish star to postpone the date. While McGregor has been adamant that he’s ready to fight in 2024, UFC President and CEO Dana White has said he won’t be booked until next year.
On Friday, White also revealed that Chandler had opted to move on from the match-up, and would have a fight announced, perhaps the following day. That would mean an official announcement for Chandler’s next fight could come during the Noche UFC (UFC 306) broadcast.
White let the news slip in an interview with Spinning Backfist.
Conor McGregor, meanwhile, took to social media to give his reaction to the news.
“Chandler saw that takedown getting stuffed and mauled and officially dipped. Little Fat P*ssy,” wrote McGregor on Twitter/X. “I’m at the hard rock hotel Florida for the bare knuckle tonight. Got tested earlier today by DFSI [Drug Free Sport International]. Give me my f*cking date!”
Michael Chandler has essentially waited two years for a date with McGregor to materialize, with the UFC 303 booking, formally announced by the company and with tickets on sale when it was cancelled, the closest it has come.
