Las Vegas – The night before weigh-ins every fighter taking part in Noche UFC, also known as UFC 306, will answer questions from the media at a press conference.
Headlining Noche UFC will be bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley and challenger Merab Dvalishvili. O’Malley (18-1) looks to defend his title for the second time against the teammate of the man who he took the belt from.
Standing in his way is Dvalishvili (17-4) who gets the title shot off the back of a 8-fight win streak with victories over Jose Aldo, Petr Yan, Henry Cejudo and Marlon Moraes to name a few.
In the co-main event Guadalajara, Mexico’s own flyweight champ Alexa Grasso will defend her title against former champ Valentina Shevchenko in their third consecutive fight. Grasso (16-3-1) defeated Shevchenko at UFC 285 to win the title. In the rematch the two fought to a draw.
Grasso and Shevchenko (23-4-1) will fight coming off coaching the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter.
Diego Lopes and Brian Ortega will give their fight another shot after the latter withdrew due to illness at UFC 303. Lopes went onto defeat Dan Ige, who stepped up in just hours notice, but still wanted the fight with Ortega. Matchmakers granted the request for Noche UFC.
Other fights on the card include:
- Daniel Zellhuber vs. Estevan Ribovics
- Ronaldo Rodriguez vs. Ode Osbourne
- Irene Aldana vs. Norma Dumont
- Manuel Torres vs. Ignacio Bahamondes
- Yazmin Jauregui vs. Ketlen Souza
