Aiemann Zahabi and Pedro Munhoz are set to collide in a bantamweight fight at UFC Edmonton this November.
Zahabi (11-2) will be looking for his fifth consecutive win when he takes on Munhoz (20-9, 2NC) at the Fight Night event at the Rogers Place on November 2, 2024.
Promotion officials announced the pairing on social media on Thursday.
Brother of TriStar Gym head coach Firas Zahabi, Aiemann, 36, has put together wins over Drako Rodriguez, Ricky Turcios, Aoriqileng, and most recently Javid Basharat over his last four outings. The Basharat fight, which came this past March, saw the Canadian become the first man to beat Javid, widely considered a top prospect at 135lbs.
Aiemann Zahabi joined the UFC in 2017, but has fought sporadically since his arrival, competing just once per year the past three years, and not at all in 2020. Should the fight against Munhoz go through, it will be Zahabi’s first time fighting twice in a year since 2017.
Munhoz will enter the fight hoping to snap a two-fight skid, with his last win coming against Chris Gutierrez in April 2023. Despite his struggles, Brazil’s Munhoz has shared the cage with some of the best bantamweights/lighter weight fighters in recent UFC history: Aljamain Sterling, Sean O’Malley, Dominick Cruz, Jose Aldo, Cody Garbrandt, and Frankie Edgar, all of whom were either former or future champs when Munhoz fought them.
