Salt Lake City – The UFC light heavyweight champion stays busy headlining PPVs and saving cards as Alex Pereira will defend his title against Khalil Rountree at UFC 307 on Oct 5.

UFC CEO Dana White announced the matchup on Friday.

 

Pereira (11-2) will headline his fourth consecutive PPV, and third in 2024. Coming off a KO victory over Jiri Prochazka at UFC 303 making it four wins in a row, all victories, with the last three coming by knockout.

Rountree (13-5) will challenge for the UFC light heavyweight title going into the fight on a 5-fight win streak with victories over Anthony Smith, Chris Daukaus, Dustin Jacoby, Karl Roberson and Modestas Bukauskas. He is also coming off a 2-month suspension due to a doping violation.

The suspension ended on July 4 making him eligible to fight at UFC 307.

The fight will headline the UFC’s return to Salt Lake City which has become a regular visit for the promotion in the couple of years.
