Abu Dhabi – UFC middleweight Michal Oleksiejczuk gets Shara Magomedov at UFC Abu Dhabi on Saturday in a fight he hopes stays on the feet so they can put a show on for the fans.
“This is very good fight for me because Shara is very popular fighter. This fight will be very exciting for me (and) for fans. I am very happy,” Oleksiejczuk told reporters on Wednesday.
“I want fight (standing). (Standing) is my best side and I like to make pressure. I like to hard punches, and I want (to) knockout my opponent.”
Oleksiejczuk (19-8) is on a two-fight losing streak dropping fights to Michel Pereira and Kevin Holland. The Holland fight was specially tough as Oleksiejczuk took the bout on short notice, not unlike this one with Magomedov, and it hit the ground with Holland ready to pounce.
“Kevin Holland is top fighter. He has great jiu jitsu and this fight was short notice, but I must train everyday. In the future I will be the best fighter,” he said.
In Shara Bullet he gets a high-level striker that not only looks very fan-friendly on paper, but fits well with Oleksiejczuk’s style.
“Shara is a great kickboxer, but I think that my boxing is better,” he said.
“That’s all.”
