Marlon Vera On Merab’s Chin, “You get dropped by Cejudo”

Abu Dhabi – Former UFC title challenger Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera faces Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC Abu Dhabi on Saturday, but he chimed in on the next bantamweight title fight on media day.

“People get confused because (Sean) O’Malley’s a funny guy. They think he’s not training, but he is just as professional as most of us,” Vera told reporters on Wednesday.

“People think he just can throw one punch. He’s a great fighter. I would be more worried about Merab’s (Dvalishvili) chin.”

Vera (23-9-1) has never faced Dvalishvili, but that didn’t stop him from speaking on his fellow 135er’s chin.

“He’s been dropped by everybody. I mean if you get dropped by (Henry) Cejudo, good lord, f*ck,” Vera said.

“That’s a f*cking 4-foot mother f*cker right there. If he catch him early the fight can be over.”

Figueiredo has said that he will be the first fighter to knock Vera out. Vera doesn’t buy the tough talk.

“That probably means he’s going to f*cking shoot and smell my crotch in the first second of the fight,” he said.

“We know how this work. Fighters say something and do something else. If he want to try it we can give it a try. I have never taken (pride) in those things because I don’t want to just talk about it and put it out in the universe. He can give it a try.”
