A teammate of Islam Makhachev, undefeated Khabib Nabiev (8-0) is set to take on PFL veteran and former Jungle Fights champ Bruce Souto (16-5) at UAE Warriors 51 on Saturday, July 27 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Promotion officials recently informed Cageside Press of the booking. The fight sees Nabiev, who trains under Khabib Nurmagomedov at the academy founded by his late father, Abdulmanap, looking for his second win under the UAE Warriors banner.
The bout will be contested at a 194 pound catchweight. Nabiev has also competed for Eagles FC and AMC Fight Nights.
Brazil’s Souto went 1-2 for the Professional Fighters league in 2022, winning a Challenger Series bout before dropping two regular season contests. He bounced back with a win over Vojtech Garba on the regional circuit in October of 2022, but has not competed since.
“Soldado de Cristo” (Soldier of Christ) will be making his promotional debut in the bout. Souto has also competed for LFA, and was a Jungle Fights welterweight champ earlier in his career.
UAE Warriors 51 takes place at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, UAE on Saturday, July 27, 2024. A previously announced main event sees Amru Magomedov looking to defend his lightweight title against Ali Kabdulla. The event is set to stream live on UFC Fight Pass.
