The recently rebranded Riyadh Season Noche UFC (what used to be known simply as UFC 306) has gained a compelling middleweight match-up.
The always entertaining Michel Pereira (31-11, 2NC) is set to face Anthony Hernandez (12-2, 1NC) at the event, which will take place at the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 14, 2024.
Pereira announced the booking via his official Instagram page recently.
“Demolidor” sits on an eight-fight win streak, with four straight post-fight bonuses. His flashy, fan-friendly style and electrifying finishes have made him one to watch since his arrival in the UFC; during his current streak, he’s notched victories over Niko Price, Santiago Ponzinibbio, Khaos Williams, and was most recently seen submitting Ihor Potieria.
Anthony Hernandez, no slouch himself, sits on a five-fight win streak of his own. Last time out, at UFC 298, he picked up a submission win over Roman Kopylov. Hernandez also claimed our 2021 Submission of the Year after putting away BJJ ace Rodolfo Vieira.
The pair are currently neck-and-neck in the rankings, with Michel Pereira sitting at #13, and Anthony Hernandez one spot behind him, ranked #14 at middleweight.
Riyadh Season Noche UFC, or UFC 306 if you prefer, does not yet have a main event announced or reported, though women’s flyweight champ Alexa Grasso being involved feels likely. Three fights have been reported for the event to date. They are:
- Michel Pereira vs. Anthony Hernandez
- Yazmin Jauregui vs. Ketlen Souza
- Édgar Cháirez vs. Kevin Borjas
