Top 10 UFC women’s flyweight’s, Jessica Andrade and Natalia Silva, will fight on September 7. This bout is now scheduled for the main card of UFC Vegas 97 at the UFC APEX.
News of the matchup was first announced by AG Fight on Thursday.
Jessica Andrade (26-12) has competed at strawweight in her last four fights going 2-2. Andrade, a 27-fight veteran of the UFC, has not competed at flyweight since February of 2023. ‘Bate Estaca’ was submitted in the second round of said bout, by Erin Blanchfield. The #5 ranked UFC women’s flyweight’s most recent time out, was a split decision win on the prelims of a histrionic UFC 300 card opposite of Marina Rodriguez.
Natalia Silva (17-5-1) has looked like an extremely promising prospect since bursting on the scene, first competing for the UFC in 2022. The #8 ranked UFC women’s flyweight is 5-0 in the promotion and has stopped Tereza Bleda and Victoria Leonardo. A product of Brazil’s Jungle Fight promotion, Silva has not lost since 2017 (against Marina Rodriguez). Last in action in February, Natalia easily defeated Viviane Araujo by unanimous decision, in her first main card appearance for the promotion.
Jessica Andrade marks another step up for the fellow Brazilian.
