UFC 303 is official, following Friday morning’s official weigh-in— which did not exactly go off without a hitch.
Before the first fighter had even hit the scales, UFC play-by-play man and weigh-in host Jon Anik announced that the card’s co-main event, a planned featherweight fight between Brian Ortega and Diego Lopes, had shifted to lightweight. Lopes hit the scales early, Ortega much later in the weigh-in window, but both made weight.
In fairness, the fight was hastily cobbled together on short notice to shore up the event, in the wake of Conor McGregor withdrawing due to injury.
Jean Silva, meanwhile, was the only athlete to miss weight on Friday, coming in 1.5lbs heavy for his featherweight fight with Charles Jourdain.
Full results and highlights from Friday’s official and ceremonial weigh-ins can be found below.
