UFC APEX – UFC featherweight Timmy Cuamba returns to the octagon looking to get back to winning, but he’ll need to get past Lucas Almeida at UFC Vegas 93 on Saturday night to do it.
“I love the matchup. I know it favors me a lot so I was honestly really excited for it,” Cuamba told reporters on Thursday.
“He’s just an opponent that I’m going to get through and that’s it.”
Cuamba (8-2) made his UFC debut in February where he dropped a split decision to Bolaji Oki. It was a disappointing loss for Cuamba, but one that was understandable given the circumstances.
“My UFC debut I went up a weight, it was on 4 days notice, following a fight 7 days before. This time you guys are going to see the real ‘Twilight Timmy’,” said Cuamba.
“My weight’s good. I’m ready to fight right now even though I’m cutting weight. I feel strong and Saturday night I’m going to unleash the full version of me.”
“I know that I’m the favorite, but I’m treating this fight very seriously of course. I know that I’m going to dominate this fight,” he said.
