Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady and Guram Kutateladze will compete in Abu Dhabi at Etihad Arena. The lightweight scrap will go down on August 3, 2024 on the main card of UFC Abu Dhabi.
News of this bout was first reported by Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie on Saturday.
Guram Kutateladze (12-4) has gone 1-2 with the UFC since joining the promotion in October of 2020 via a massive split decision victory over top ranked, Mateusz Gamrot. Guram has had some trouble making it to the cage lately, as in nearly four years’ time he has had a total of four fights cancelled and made the walk to the octagon only three times. Kutateladze dropped a split decision to another high-level fighter in, Damir Ismagulov, in June of 2022. Most recently, the ‘Georgian Viking’ was TKO’d in the third round by Elves Brener, last July.
Facing him at UFC Abu Dhabi, Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady (15-4) is a former Fury FC lightweight champion and a product of the 2023 season of the Contender Series. In March, the ‘Pride of Palestinian’ was defeated in his UFC debut, via a rough KO in the third round, at the hands of Loik Radzhabov in the opening fight of the Rozenstruik vs. Gaziev card.
