Sean Strickland Says He’ll Wait For A Title Shot After Beating Costa

Newark – Former UFC middleweight Sean Strickland believes he’s earned a title shot following his victory over Paulo Costa at UFC 302 on Saturday night.

“I’m going to wait. I f*cking paid my f*cking dues man,” Strickland told reporters including Cageside Press at his post-fight scrum.

“I paid my dues, I got f*cking robbed in dirty f*cking Canada. We all know I got f*cking robbed. At Dricus (du Plessis) doesn’t back up. So I’m going to sit my f*cking ass in the gym and I’m going to be a team player, and I’m going to f*cking wait until they say Sean go beat this man.”

Strickland (29-6) could have waited for a shot at the belt, but wanted to leave no doubt he should fight for the belt next.

“I could have waited, but then it would have been like oh well Sean’s waiting. Sean’s doing this so I said you know f*ck it. I’m going to go fight him, and you know I’m going to beat him, and then I’ll get my title shot,” Strickland told Cageside Press.

“At the end of the day guys I want that f*cking gold belt, but I want money. You get way more money when you got a f*cking belt. So let’s go f*cking get that belt, get that money.”
