Youssef Zalal will take on Jarno Errens on August 10 at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada. The featherweight fight will be somewhere on the main card of UFC Vegas 95.
The bout was first reported by Marcel Dorff (via @UFCopEurosport on Instagram) on Friday.
Youssef Zalal (14-5-1) was a former standout of the LFA promotion before being picked up by the UFC in early 2020. After rocketing to a 4-0 start with the promotion, Zalal went winless in his next 4 bouts all via decision against: future UFC featherweight champ, Ilia Topuria, as well as solid fighters in Seung Woo Choi, Sean Woodson and Da’Mon Blackshear.
Youssef was subsequently released by the UFC and after five combat sports victories including three in MMA, was re-signed recently. Zalal submitted Billy Quarantillo in his most recent bout, back in March, via a second-round rear naked choke.
Jarno Errens (14-5-1) has gone 1-2 in his time with the UFC since being signed mid 2022. Errens lost his first bout with the promotion via majority decision to William Gomis. In August of last year, Jarno dropped a unanimous decision to Seung Woo Choi. And in his most recent bout, a couple of months ago, Jarno captured his first UFC win, defeating Steven Nguyen via unanimous decision.
This fight is currently the first and only announced bout for UFC Vegas 95 on August 10, 2024.
