The vacant Cage Warriors featherweight championship was on the line when top British prospect Harry Hardwick met Orlando Wilson Prins in the main event of Cage Warriors 172 on Saturday.
On a weekend with nary a single major MMA event in the offing, Cage Warriors 172 might actually have been the most significant fight card runnning, especially with Hardwick’s status as a UFC hopeful. Having previously competed for Bellator MMA, Hardwich was 4-0-1 under the Cage Warriors banner, and looking to secure gold in an organization that often serves as a feeder league to the big show.
Previous Cage Warriors featherweight champions include Conor McGregor, Paddy Pimblett, and recent PFL signee Paul Hughes.
