UFC 303 has added a high-profile welterweight scrap that will land on the PPV portion of the card.
On Monday, UFC President and CEO Dana White announced that Ian Machado Garry will face Michael Page, simply known as “MVP,” at the event. The show caps off this year’s International Fight Week, and takes place June 29, 2024 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Garry (14-0) remains undefeated in his professional career, and hails from Ireland, which should make UFC 303 a popular card with fans from the region, given Conor McGregor makes his return in the night’s main event.
“The Future” is coming off a split decision win over Geoff Neal, and has also defeated the likes of Song Kenan, Daniel Rodriguez, and Neil Magny. Garry is currently ranked #7 in the UFC’s welterweight division.
As for his opponent, Michael “Venom” Page (22-2) holds the #13 spot after a successful debut at UFC 299 in March. That saw the British striker head to Miami to face Kevin Holland, the end result being a unanimous decision win for MVP.
Alongside Ian Machado Garry vs. Michael Page, Conor McGregor takes on Michael Chandler in a belated TUF 31 coaches’ fight at UFC 303. The full card as reported to date breaks down as follows:
