Bellator MMA, now under the ownership of the PFL returned to the Accor Arena in Paris France on Friday for Bellator Champions Series 2, or simply Bellator Paris.
Headlined by a bantamweight title fight and rematch between Patchy Mix and Magomed Magomedov, the card was brimming with top French talent beyond the main event, including the return of kickboxer-turned-mixed martial artist Cedric Doumbe, making his Bellator debut. Already a mainstay under the PFL Europe banner, Doumbe was looking to shake off a bizarre loss in his last fight, when a splinter/debris in the cage had rendered him unable to continue.
At Bellator Paris, Doumbe was paired up with Jaleel Willis, who had nearly sparked a brawl at the card’s ceremonial weigh-ins a day earlier.
