UFC APEX – UFC strawweight Luana Pinheiro says she learned from her mistakes in her past fight and plans to apply those lessons against Angela Hill at UFC Vegas 92 on Saturday night.
“I think I made some mistakes that ended up costing me a lot,” Pinheiro told reporters through a translator on Wednesday.
“The end of the day the result wasn’t (what I expected). I think I was happy with my striking, with my evolution. Obviously it was just towards the end losing the fight, but it was a great learning opportunity,” she said.
“There was a lot of stuff to take here for the next fight.”
Pinheiro (11-2) comes into the fight ranked #9 with Hill at #12. Hill clearly has a lot to gain with a win on Saturday night.
“Hill is a very experienced fighter. Someone who’s a tough fighter, who’s been around for quite some time so she’s faced everybody for so many years,” said Pinheiro.
“There comes a time where you run out of opponents to actually face so when I looked at this I just wanted to make sure that it was a good fight for me. That’s what I care about is what I can get out of this fight. It’s not about the numbers.”
