The second of back-to-back cards at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, ONE Fight Night 22 saw the ONE women’s strawweight Muay Thai championship on the line.
Taking place Friday night on Amazon Prime Video (Saturday local time), the main event had champ Smilla Sundell poised to defend her belt for the first time — until things went haywire at Thursday’s weigh-in. Sundell missed weight for the fight, and was stripped of her title as a result.
Thanks to that sudden turn of events, only Natalia Diachkova would be eligible to win gold at ONE Fight Night 22. Were Sundell to come away victorious, the belt would remain vacant.
