Just two months away from his return to the octagon at UFC 303, Conor McGregor is making other waves in the combat sports world.
On Saturday, McGregor announced in a video package played during the BKFC KnuckleMania 4 broadcast that he and his McGregor Sports and Entertainment were now owners of BareKnuckle FC. The package was introduced by BKFC President David Feldman; terms of the deal were not revealed.
It is believed that McGregor Sports and Entertainment will have a partial ownership stake in the promotion. In 2022, Triller acquired a majority state of the bare-knuckle boxing company, though details of that deal were not made public. Feldman founded the promotion in 2018, and has overseen its operations since.
McGregor was previously seen in attendance at a BKFC event, even entering the ring and suggesting he may want to participate in the sport at some point. He was not, however, on hand at KnuckleMania 4 in Los Angeles on Saturday, with the video package announcing his ownership involvement appearing to be pre-recorded.
BKFC has continued to expand into new territories, heading to Thailand, Canada, and the U.K. while hosting 60 numbered events and over 80 events in total. Stars currently competing for the company include “Platinum” Mike Perry, in action at KnuckleMania 4, “Big” Ben Rothwell, John Dodson, Lorenzo Hunt, and Mike Richman, among others.
Conor McGregor returns to action at UFC 303 on June 27, where he takes on Michael Chandler in the long-awaited TUF 31 coaches’ fight.
