Oktagon MMA was in Birmingham, England on Saturday for Oktagon 56, headlined by a flyweight championship bout.
With the promotion’s vacant 125lb title on the line, it was Aaron Aby facing off with Sam Creasey for a shot at undisputed gold. The bout came in the wake of inaugural flyweight champ Elias Garcia, a UFC alum, being stripped of his belt. Garcia had defeated Aby to win the title last year, but that victory had come about via a doctor’s stoppage due to a cut in a contest Aby was arguably winning.
Having twice turned down a rematch with Aby, Oktagon stripped Garcia this past March, paving the way for Aby vs. Creasey at Oktagon 56.
