Despite being knocked out all of six days ago, former UFC light heavyweight champ Jamahal Hill has already booked his next fight.
Hill (12-2, 1NC) will face Khalil Rountree Jr. (13-5, 1NC) as part of UFC 303 on June 29, 2024 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV, promotion officials announced on Friday. The card will cap off this year’s International Fight Week, which will include the traditional fan expo as well as the UFC Hall of Fame inductions.

Hill was put down in violent fashion by Alex Pereira in his first fight since January 2023. The ex-champ had never lost his 205lb title, instead vacating the belt after tearing his Achilles tendon while playing basketball.
“Sweet Dreams” had earned the then-vacant title by defeating Glover Teixeira at UFC 283.
Rountree Jr. sits on the best run of his professional career, having built up a five-fight win streak. Having honed a particularly nasty striking game while training at Tiger Muay Thai, Rountree has three Performance of the Night bonuses among those five wins, and is coming off a victory over former title challenger Anthony “Lionheart” Smith.
UFC 303 is set to be headlined by the returning Conor McGregor, who will take on Michael Chandler in the TUF 31 coaches’ fight. Along with Jamahal Hill vs. Khalil Rountree Jr, the following match-ups have been reported for the card:
- Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler
- Joe Pyfer vs. Marc-André Barriault
- Michelle Waterson-Gomez vs. Gillian Robertson
- Andre Fili vs. Cub Swanson
- Rei Tsuruya vs. Carlos Hernandez
- Jamahal Hill vs. Khalil Rountree Jr.
