Canadian flyweight Jasmine Jasudavicius started the year with a beatdown of a Brazilian contender, and she’ll look to get past another one in her second bout of 2024.
Jasudavicius (10-3) will face Viviane Araujo (12-6) at the UFC’s July 13, 2024 Fight Night event, at a venue and location yet to be announced.
Cageside Press confirmed the booking with a source familiar with the situation, following an initial report by MMA Junkie.
Niagara Top Team’s Jasmine Jasudavicius has become a budding star in the 125lb weight class as well as being one of the top female athletes in her native Canada. The St. Catharines, Ontario native is 3-1 in her last four fights, and kicked off the year by beating Priscila Cachoeira in a bantamweight fight after Cachoeira came into UFC 297‘s Fight Week so heavy the entire fight had to be moved up a division.
Jasudavicius accepted the fight regardless, and wound up earning the submission win late in the third after dominating the early rounds.
Araujo is ranked #10 in the women’s flyweight division; Jasudavicius had been ranked #15 but slipped out of the rankings despite coming off a win.
The Brazilian has split her last two fights, losing to Natalia Silva but defeating former title challenger Jennifer Maia.
The UFC’s July 13 Fight Night card does has a main event, or any other match-ups, reported currently.
