RIZIN Landmark 9 took place on Saturday, March 23, 2024 in Kobe, Japan, with a couple of familiar faces topping the card in a lightweight affair.
That main event saw lightweight champ Roberto “Satoshi” de Souza return, in a non-title fight with veteran Keita Nakamura. Satoshi had most recently been seen suffering defeat at the hands of Bellator star Patricky Pitbull, though his title had not been on the line.
Heading into Saturday’s event, Kiichi Kunimoto‘s opponent Igor Tanabe badly blew weight for their fight, leading to the bout’s cancellation. But there were plenty of other familiar faces as UFC vet Naoki Inoue faced Shoko Sato, and Erson Yamamoto, son of the recently retired Miyuu Yamamoto, was also in action.
