After a big weekend in Miami with a record-setting gate, the UFC returns to the cozy confines of the Apex for UFC Vegas 88 this Saturday.
Not exactly blowing anyone’s socks off on paper, the card nevertheless has some familiar names. It’s heavyweights headlining the show for the second time this month, as Tai Tuivasa, looking to snap a three-fight skid and celebrate with a shoe-y, faces off with Poland’s Marcin Tybura. In the co-feature, a possible star turn awaits TUF 29 winner Bryan Battle, as he takes on Ange Loosa. Another Ultimate Fighter champ, TUF 28’s Macy Chiasson, is also on the card against castmate Pannie Kianzad, while Ovince Saint Preux returns opposite Kennedy Nzechukwu.
Weigh-ins for UFC Vegas 88 take place Friday at 12PM ET, 9AM PT; full results can be found below.
Three fighters failed to make weight on Friday, the first being Natan Levy, who was just half a pound shy of the lightweight limit. While he hit the scales early, two others who weighed in during the final minutes of the window also missed the mark: bantamweight Chelsea Chandler, over by a pound, and Danny Silva, a full two and a half pounds heavy for a featherweight fight.
None of the three were medically cleared to continue their weight cut, and all were fined 20% of their fight purse, but will be eligible to compete on Saturday.
