UFC 301 sees the Ultimate Fighting Championship return to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and some local flavor has been added to the card in the form of Elves Brenner.
Brenner (16-3) will face Myktybek Orolbai (12-1-1) at the event, set for the Jeunesse Arena in Rio on May 4, 2024. The bout is expected to take place in the welterweight division.
News of the booking was first reported by Ag.Fight, with both athletes confirming the fight on social media.
Brenner has impressed through three UFC fights to date. The Brazilian debuted for the company last year, earning a split decision win over Zubaira Tukhugov in his first assignment. Since then, the 26-year old training out of Chute Box Diego Lima has notched two stoppages, against Guram Kutateladze and Kaynan Kruschewsky.
Brennder picked up Performance of the Night bonuses for both of those wins.
Orolbai, from Kyrgyzstan, submitted Uros Medic in his promotional debut last November.
UFC 301 does not yet have a main event officially announced. The card is the third in Brazil since the coronavirus pandemic wanted, and the second PPV in the country since 2019. The following match-ups have been reported for the May card:
