Anaheim, CA – After defeating a former two-division champion ay UFC 298 bantamweight Merab Dvalishvili is ready for his title shot.
“That means I’m fighting for the belt. I have another challenge that’s only goal I have now. Fight for title and then win the belt,” Dvalishvili told reporters including Cageside Press at his post-fight scrum on Saturday night.
“Im only getting better as you guys see. Every fight looks so much easier.”
Dvalishvili (17-4) defeated former two-division title holder Henry Cejudo at UFC 298 via unanimous decision. Dvalishvili seemed to dominate in every category even taking the Olympic gold medalist down multiple times.
“I wasn’t even really breathing. I was very comfortable. This is only beginning. I have so many years left (in) me because I live healthy lifestyle,” he said.
During the fight Dvalishvili was seen speaking to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg who was cage side for the event.
“Mark Zuckerberg we became friends in social media. He’s been supporting me and send positive message (to) each other. He did text me a couple days ago (that) he (would) be at the fights, but he tell me ‘don’t tell no one’. I keep a secret of course,” Dvalishvili said
“I know he was there. I saw him and say hi and good to see you finally in person. During the rounds he was calling me times ’30 seconds left’ he was coaching me. He was my fourth corner tonight.”
