The UFC returned to the cozy confines of the Apex on Saturday, with UFC Vegas 85 putting the middleweight division in the spotlight.
A pair of ranked 185’ers anchored the card, as Georgian Roman Dolidze clashed with France’s Nassourdine Imavov.
Both fighters were looking to return to the win column on Saturday night, with Imavov seeing his last fight end in a No Contest due to an accidental headbutt that left Chris Curtis unable to continue. One fight prior, Imavov had lost to the other half of MMA’s “Odd Couple,” Sean Strickland.
Dolidze for his part was looking to bounce back from a loss to Marvin Vettori. Despite that setback, the former light heavyweight revealed to media members this past week that he’d signed a new deal with the UFC after demanding to re-negotiate his contract early, and to headline a card — which he would do for the first time at UFC Vegas 85.
Also on Saturday’s card, Drew Dober and Renato Moicano threw down in a promising lightweight co-main event, while “Meatball” Molly McCann made the move to strawweight in a rematch with Diana Belbita.
