March’s UFC Atlantic City card is in need of a new main event, a result of Sean Brady vs. Vicente Luque falling through.
News of the fight being off the card was first reported by Harry Mac of The Bookie’s Basement.
An additional report by MMA Junkie noted that Brady, who has been dealing with an injury, never signed the bout agreement.
That gives the promotion just under two month’s time to find a replacement for the welterweight fight at UFC Atlantic City. Or to put together a new main event entirely.
Brady (16-1) and Luque (22-9-1) both returned to the win column in their last outings, with Brady getting past Kelvin Gastelum, and Luque defeating ex-lightweight champ Rafael dos Anojs.
If the UFC is unable to find a new opponent for Luque, a women’s flyweight bout between Erin Blanchfield and Manon Fiorot could be a possible main event replacement. Former middleweight champ Chris Weidman also faces Bruno Silva on the card.
UFC Atlantic City takes place on March 30, 2024 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ, and is the promotion’s first visit to the city since 2018. The following match-ups have been reported for the event:
- Erin Blanchfield vs. Manon Fiorot
