The milestone UFC 300 in April continues to grow, with popular newcomer Diego Lopes booked opposite Sodiq Yusuff at the PPV event.
Freak MMA was first to report news of the pairing, with Lopes later confirming the match-up on social media. The fight is expected to be part of the night’s preliminary card.
Lopes (23-6) arrived in the UFC just last year and had been best known as Alexa Grasso’s jiu-jitsu coach. He quickly won over fans with a strong showing on short notice against Movsar Evloev, however, and went on to win his next two fights, finishing both Pat Sabatini and Gavin Tucker.
All three of his outings inside the octagon have earned Diego Lopes a post-fight bonus: Fight of the Night opposite Evloev, and Performance of the Night bonuses for his wins over Sabatini and Tucker.
Sodiq Yusuff (13-3) is ranked #12 in the featherweight division, with Lopes looking to break into the top 15. “Super” Sodiq will enter the night off a loss to Edson Barboza, his first fight in roughly a year.
With the addition of Sodiq Yusuff vs. Diego Lopes, the UFC 300 card on April 13, 2024 at the T-Mobile Arena now consists of the following match-ups:
