Movsar Evloev Expects Title Shot Regardless Of Lack Of Finishes

Toronto – UFC featherweight Movsar Evloev sees his next fight being for the title following his win over Arnold Allen at UFC 297 on Saturday night.

“I am. It’s not about finish somebody or something else. I’m 18-0,” Evloev told reporters including Cageside Press at his post-fight scrum.

“Even if I have no finish(es) with 15-0 I beat everybody, and everybody know(s). (There is) no way (they) don’t let me go for the title. If I need beat somebody else just give it to me.”

The criticism of a potential Evloev title shot is that in 8 UFC fights he has no finishes. He is still undefeated. Evloev looks to challenge the winner of Alexander Volkanovski and Ilia Topuria who battle at UFC 298 in February. Evloev would be willing to travel to whomever the champion’s home country is for the belt.

“Doesn’t matter. I never fought in my house in my territory in UFC. Doesn’t matter where just let me know before, like 4-5 weeks, and I will be ready,” said Evloev.

Evloev gave his pick for the winner of that fight earlier in the week choosing the current champion to retain his belt.

“I’m still thinking he’s still tough. Ilia, he’s tough too, he’s undefeated. He has chance for victory too, but my favorite (is) still Alex. For me maybe it’s better if Ilia will win because we have some bad (history) and for me it’s good to take title shot,” he said.
