The longest break of the MMA calendar is at an end, with major promotions firing back up including the UFC this weekend, kicking off 2024 with UFC Vegas 84 at the Apex in Las Vegas.
The Fight Night card is headlined by a rematch between light heavyweights Magomed Ankalaev and Johnny Walker, whose first fight was marred due to an illegal knee. With Walker rendered unable to continue the bout ended in a No Contest, necessitating a do-over.
Also featured on the UFC Vegas 84 card, veteran Jim Miller, paired up with Gabriel Benitez in a fight that hopefully won’t keep him off of UFC 300. In the co-main event, meanwhile, Manel Kape was looking to get one back in a rematch with Matheus Nicolau at flyweight.
The UFC Vegas 84 weigh-ins go down Friday in Las Vegas starting at 12PM ET/9AM PT; full results can be found below.
The last man to weigh in on Friday was the first to miss weight in 2024, as Manel Kape came in heavy at 129.5lbs for his flyweight co-main event. A full 3.5lbs over, it almost certainly put a damper on Kape’s hopes to jump the line at 125. The miss marks the second time Manel Kape has missed weight in the UFC, after hitting 129lbs for a fight against Ode Osbourne in 2021.
