A heavyweight showdown between Tai Tuivasa and Marcin Tybura previously announced for UFC 298 has been pushed back.
Instead of taking place at February’s PPV card in Anaheim, CA, Tuivasa vs. Tybura will instead headline the UFC’s March 16, 2024 Fight Night event. UFC CEO Dana White announced the change on Friday, part of a slew of fight announcements.
Tuivasa (14-6) will be looking to snap a three-fight skid in the bout, after suffering a trio of losses at the hands of Alexander Volkov, Sergei Pavlovich, and Ciryl Gane. The streak has equaled the worst stretch of “Bam Bam’s” career, and makes his next outing all the more important.
As for Tybura (24-8), the former M-1 heavyweight champ will be looking to shake off a loss to current interim champ Tom Aspinall. Prior to that, “Tybur” had picked up wins over Alexandr Romanov and Blagoy Ivanov.
The UFC’s March 16 Fight Night event is expected to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The following match-ups have been reported for the card to date:
- Tai Tuivasa vs. Marcin Tybura
- Charalampos Grigoriou vs. Toshiomi Kazama
- Ode’ Osbourne vs. Jafel Filho
- Christian Rodriguez vs. Isaac Dulgarian
- Thiago Moisés vs. Brad Riddell
- Bryan Battle vs. Ange Loosa
- Cory McKenna vs. Jaqueline Amorim
