Las Vegas, NV – UFC lightweight legend Jim Miller isn’t looking past Gabriel Benitez at UFC Vegas 84.
Even if he is already preparing to fight on UFC 300 in April.
“Having prepared for him (before) it’s pretty easy. When I talked to Sean (Shelby) he’s like ‘hey you know we’ll get through this fight and you’ll be right on track for 300’ it was a no-brainer,” Miller told reporters including Cageside Press on Wednesday.
“It’s never happened before for me (knowing I have a fight already lined up after this one). It’s fun because it puts a little extra pressure on me which I do enjoy.”
The pressure on Miller isn’t just to win, but to come out of the fight relatively unharmed. In a sport as rough as MMA that’s never a guarantee.
“I haven’t entertained any of the ‘who do you want to fight, this and that’ that is completely out of my mind at this point. It’s cool to know that we’re going to get through this fight. Who knows it could be an easy night, it could be a tough night, I could be banged up,” Miller said.
“Well you’re going to get right back into fight camp and I f*cking love that. I’m here to fight.”
