Weili (24-3) will defend her title for the second time during her second UFC title reign. She last defended it against Amanda Lemos at UFC 292. Weili earned a unanimous decision victory that night.
Xiaonan (17-3) will ride a two-fight win streak into UFC 300 against Weili. She last picked up a knockout victory over Jessica Andrade at UFC 288 last May.
Many expected this fight to be set in China with the UFC set to return to the country for the first time since 2019. That night Weili and Andrade battled for the strawweight title that the former won via TKO.
Other fights already announced for UFC 300 include:
- Zhang Weili vs. Yan Xiaonan
- Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan
- Jiri Prochaza vs. Aleksandar Rakic
- Calvin Kattar vs. Aljamain Sterling
- Bo Nickal vs. Cody Brundage
UFC 300 is expected to have at least one more title fight on the card if not two more. With it being the most anticipated UFC PPV arguably ever the promotion is surely looking to make more big announcements soon.
