Teenage bantamweight Raul Rosas Jr. will get to fight at home when he takes on TUF 29 winner Ricky Turcios at UFC Mexico City.
The long-awaited return to Mexico by the promotion arrives on February 24, 2024, with the event taking place at the Arena CDMX. Brandon Moreno vs. Amir Albazi headlines.
Rosas Jr. (8-1), a.k.a. “El Nino Problemo,” announced the news via the UFC’s social media channels on Friday. The 19-year old, who won his way into the promotion when he was 17 as part of Dana White’s Contender Series.
After earning a submission victory over Jay Perrin in his debut, Raul Rosas Jr. then dropped a decision to Christian Rodriguez in his sophomore trip to the octagon, a fight that saw him visibly exhausted following the opening round. He returned at Noche UFC this past September, stopping Terrance Mitchell in under a minute.
Ricky Turcios (12-3) is also 2-1 inside the UFC proper, after winning the bantamweight tournament as part of The Ultimate Fighter 29. Most recently, the 30-year old Turcios earned a split decision win over Kevin Natividad.
