The latest Jake Paul boxing extravaganza/spectacle arrived on Friday, with Paul vs. Andre August taking place at the Caribe Royale Orlando in Orlando, Florida.
Paul, as he had with Tommy Fury, the lesser-known brother of heavyweight champ Tyson Fury, was once against boxing a boxer, beccause, well, it had gone so well the first time. And because you can only make so much money boxing aged, undersized mixed martial artists before fight fans got tired of your schtick.
The quite blatant lack of hype surrounding the latest Paul spectacle was either a sign his star, in boxing at least, was fading, or that he was perhaps more focused on honing his skills in the ring with the challenge ahead. Hopefully, the latter rather than the former was the case.
