Lightweights Joe Solecki and Drakkar Klose faced off Saturday at UFC Austin, part of the Fight Night event’s preliminary card.
Both fighters came into the bout at the Moody Center in Austin, TX looking to extend modest two-fight win streaks.
The action began with Solecki instantly landing a double leg takedown after a few striking feints. Klose knew he had to try and work back to his feet fast, as Solecki the jiu-jitsu specialist would be happy to stay here for three rounds. Solecki looked to try and transition to the back of Klose but he got to haste with it and ended up on the bottom with Klose in control. Despite that, Solecki carried on looking for the submission from the bottom and latched onto an arm of Klose. That was a mistake. Klose picked up the 30-year-old and slammed him on the side of his temple and upon impact, Solecki was out cold.
Drakkar Klose ran off initiating splashing money, hoping that the crazy KO would win him $50,000. This marked the Fight Ready product’s third win in a row and his only win of 2023. In the process, he snapped Solecki’s two fight winning streak.
In his Octagon interview, Klose didn’t come with a name of who he wants next, he simply said: “the easiest guy in the division, I’m trying to make some money baby.”
