UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland never seems to be far from controversy, but on Monday, the Las Vegas-based fighter posted video that might be the closest he gets to being the “good guy.”
In the clip, filmed by a Ring doorbell/security cameras at Strickland’s residence, Strickland can be seen holding an unnamed individual who stumbles onto his property at gunpoint. The video carries the caption “POV: when someone tries to break into my house,” though the Xtreme Couture athlete later clarified that he thought his car was about to be stolen.

Apparently knocking the man to the ground, with an unidentified bystander nearby, Strickland orders the man to “sit the f*ck down.” While the video clip Strickland posted to Twitter was scant on details, an additional posting to Instagram shed a little more light on the situation.
“Here’s what I know….
The guy was drunk stomping out a girl, a security guard seen it, he jumped in his car and drove off. Security followed him, hit a curb, completely shredded his tire, drove on the rim for awhile then jumped out and tried to hide at my house. I initially thought he was stealing my car..
He was arrested.”
Sean Strickland shocked just about everyone, most of all Israel Adesanya, when he won a five-round decision to capture the UFC’s middleweight championship against one of the sport’s biggest stars. He’s slated to make his first title defense against Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 297 in Toronto this January.
Strickland is also a noted gun enthusiast, making breaking into his home or vehicles a very bad idea — though in this case, it appears the perp was simply extraordinarily unlucky, and hadn’t actually been attempting to steal anything but rather flee authorities following an alleged domestic dispute.
The 32-year old Strickland has also been feuding with welterweight Ian Machado Garry of late.
