New York, NY – UFC flyweight Joshua Van was happy with his victory at UFC 295 over Kevin Borjas, but he wasn’t satisfied.
“I’m feeling great but, at the same time I feel a little bit of disappointment,” Van told reporters including Cageside Press at his post-fight scrum on Saturday night.
“Last time I told you guys I was going to get the finish. We didn’t get the finish so I guess next time I’m for sure.”
The finish was tough to get on Borjas whose awkward style and timing made it difficult for Van to dissect.
“The thing is I was trying to time his timing. I was trying to get his timing right. I think I waited too long and that’s what got me messed up in the fight. Next time I’ll push the pace from the start to the finish,” Van said.
Now that he got the win over Borjas at MSG on UFC 295 the young man hopes to stay active.
“What’s next for me is they told me I’ve got to wait 7 days to fight so I want to fight next week,” Van said with a smile.
“But I want to stay active as possible, you know, while I’m young.”
