Another Canadian star has been added to January’s UFC 297 card in Toronto.
With the UFC returning to Canada for the second time since the coronavirus pandemic waned, it will be Charles Jourdain (15-6-1) taking on Sean Woodson (10-1-1) on January 20, 2024 in a featherweight fight.
Cageside Press confirmed the booking with multiple sources following an initial report by Eurosport.
Jourdain is coming off back-to-back wins over Kron Gracie and Ricardo Ramos, with the latter earning the Canadian a Performance of the Night bonus following a first-round guillotine submission. “Air” Jourdain has never fought in Canada under the UFC banner and last competed in his home country in 2019, when he became a double champ (featherweight and lightweight) in TKO.
Woodson is undefeated through his last four fights with a 3-0-1 record. He’ll enter the bout with Charles Jourdain off a decision win over Dennis Buzukja.
