Bellator 300 arrives this weekend, a milestone event for the promotion that has held the #2 slot in MMA for the better part of a decade.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Bellator card without a touch of the promotion’s fabled bad luck, with the MMA Gods scrapping not one but two title fights on a card that originally had four belts on the line. Or maybe one and a half title fights. Liz Carmouche can still retain her women’s flyweight title on Saturday, but Ilima-Lei Macfarlane, the promotion’s former 125lb champ and promotional darling, will not be eligible to win gold after missing weight for the fight.
Earlier in the week, Linton Vassell was forced to pull out of a fight with heavyweight champ Ryan Bader, removing that title fight from the San Diego card.
Weigh-ins for Bellator 300 took place Friday, with the event going down Saturday headlined by Usman Nurmagomedov vs. Brent Primus, while Cris Cyborg vs. Cat Zingano serves as co-headliner. Highlights from Friday’s weigh-ins can be found below!
