Middleweights Chidi Njokuani and Michal Oleksiejczuk brought serious stopping power to their UFC Singapore showdown on Saturday.

While both men were looking to return to the win column, both were also known for ending fights early: Njokuani had secured knockouts in both of his UFC victories (and earned a finish in his Contender Series fight), while Poland’s Oleksiejczuk KO/TKO finishes in five of his six wins with the company.

The fight began with the two meeting in the centre of the Octagon trading strikes and engaging in a clinch, from there Njokuani landed a few big knees to the body of the Polish. Chidi “Bang Bang” landed a big kick to the body and then followed it with a high kick attempt.

Oleksiejczuk wasn’t backed up too much though and he carried on with the pressure, attempting to land a few big left hands. Michal controlled in the clinch against the fence for a few minutes but as soon as the two broke away, Njokuani landed another big body shot. A heavy knee to the body was followed by a beautiful switch kick to the head which wobbled Oleksiejczuk. Michal ate it well though and took on the following flurry of Njokuani. From there he dogged it out and came back with a flurry of his own landing a few big hooks. Chidi attempted to land another knee to the body but this time Oleksiejczuk floored him and reigned down some heavy ground-and-pound. The 28-year-old didn’t let up and from there did enough for ref Thomas Fann to step in and put a stop to it.

Official Result: Michal Oleksiejczuk def. Chidi Njokuani by TKO Round 1, 4:16
