Prediction: This is another good fight made by the matchmakers that’s hard to predict. Elliott previously seemed to fall short every time he got a step up in competition. He’s now hit his stride as he’s on a four-fight win streak over a few good guys. Kaik on the other hand has fought a lot of good competition. All his losses are to good fighters but he has beat good fighters as well. He’s won his last two fights and is performing at his best right now.

This fight is a contrast of styles. Brito is going to want to keep this fight upright and Elliott is going to bring a high wrestling pace. Brito tends to get taken down a lot and Elliott’s striking defense is a little shaky. So, it’s whoever can implicit their gameplan the most.

I find myself more impressed with the striking of Brito than the wrestling of Elliott. Elliott can most likely take Brito down but I don’t believe he can hold Brito down. Elliott’s striking has improved a lot over the years but it’s still levels below Brito. The more effective striking path for Brito in this fight is the jab and leg kick.

Elliott tends to let guys he’s fighting set the pace and Brito isn’t the one to let do that. I like Brito because of course the superior striking. I believe Elliott will get takedowns but Brito will be able to get back to the feet and go back to work on the feet. Only Mateusz Rebecki has been able to actually hold Brito down and be dominant and Elliott isn’t on that level. I like Brito by decision but I could see a late finish.
